Block Captains serve as volunteer communicators, covering a defined area (usually 1 to 2 blocks.) They welcome new neighbors, inform neighbors about TNA events and membership, and share residents’ concerns with TNA Officers for consideration. Estimated time commitment: 4-6 hours per year. Development Committee volunteers work as needed on issues such as re-zoning, variance requests and construction monitoring. They also help neighbors understand and navigate the city’s building and zoning codes for remodeling projects and new construction. Contact: Cara Kennemer cara@kennemers.com
Fourth of July Parade volunteers help organize, set up and clean up for this annual event, held in conjunction with other nearby neighborhoods. Parade organizers need volunteers a few days before the parade each year, as well as adults willing to staff traffic safety barricades during the parade. Estimated time commitment: 2-4 hours per year.
Citizens on Patrol (COPs) enhance neighborhood security by being a visible presence and reporting criminal or suspicious activity via radios provided by the police department. If you’re interested in re-starting our COP group, let us know.
